jiglib for Flash, AS3 3D Physic engine

January 13th, 2009 by kiroukou :: General, Must see, Project, demos, en :: RSS 2.0

A very interessting project is on the road, it is a port of jiglib from C++ to AS3.

What is jiglib, basically a 3D rigid bodies engine, so different from what Wow offered to us until now.

Here is a fast port of their official demo to Sandy 3.1, use keyboard directionnals keys to move, and space button to apply vertical force.

    Amazing. And man did you guys port that fast to Sandy.

    Well I can’t supply sources right now since I had to change the jiglib sources (currently make use of PV3D).

    But If nothing has been done from the part of jiglib developers to make it compatible with all engines, I’ll supply the todo to make it work with sandy.

    There are some bugs…
    If I roll the ball of the platform and then start rolling back onto it (while falling)
    Something goes wrong in the z-sorting and the ball can be seen even tho it should be hiden under the platform.

    Indeed, but as you said, this is a sorting bug, which is the most known limitation of 3D in Flash ;)

  9. March 4th, 2009 at 11:24 am :: makc

    @Ice, away have their own example somewhere
    @ieaiaio, I hope never :) “done” is same as “stopped developing” or “abandoned”

    Hey, your Sandy version is the most fun!
    You really have to make the “plugin” for Sandy, and add it to the jiglibflash tree.
    Mucho nice!
