ExtraLight alpha: here we go !

The ExtraLight package and the 3DsMax 8 plug-in are ready !

The more difficult part of the project is now done. I spent a lot of time to write a plug-in very user-friendly, so now it's time to experiment and build great demos !

To show how it works, I prepared the sources of a very basic demo. It demonstrates how to display a simple illuminated bump-mapped and bitmap-textured geosphere. So you will find just the essential:

I'm currently writing the documentation for this demo, because ExtraLight is very powerful as well as technical to use. So don't be afraid if you don't undertand how to create your own 3D models, the documentation will explain you all this in a very short time.

ExtraLight: prelude

ExtraLight is a new material for Sandy3D. Applied to any mesh 3D, it allows the use of very realistic dynamic lights. ExtraLight is based on a new illumination model : the based texture lighting.

The main idea behind ExtraLight is to let you configure your light settings directly in your favorite 3D software (today 3D studio Max only) and pre-calculate automatically the results under texture to exploit these through Sandy.
