In order to run and play with the following tutorials you need two things:

• installed Adobe Flash CS3
• Sandy 3.0 source files

I'll skip the CS3 installation since I believe you will not be here if you don't have CS3 – I'll skip to the sandy part.

For get a copy of Sandy, you have two choices:

• download the Sandy source zip file,
• or use a SVN client to synchronized your folder with folder of the developing team.

If you are a novice developer, I suggest that you download the zip file and unzip it, if you are an expert developer I'm sure you know what a SVN client is, otherwise view the video tutorial.

One way or the other, you need to have a sandy folder with all the source code in it (I also recommend to download the API documentation if you want to dig into the detailed description of all the API). In order to let CS3 see the sandy library, you have to options:

• Place the folder in your working directory where you will place your Document Class (I'll explain what a Document Class is, later)
• Place the folder in a dedicated directory and make CS3 point to that directory. You can accomplish this by following these steps:
  • Inside CS3 IDE choose Edit→Preferences.
  • Choose the second option “Action Script”, and then click “Action Script 3.0 Setting”.
  • Add a new entry in the classpath using the + sign and point to the directory where the sandy directory is located. NOTE: Remember to point to the directory above the ”sandy” directory, do NOT point to the sandy directory because it won't work!

The following screenshot should help you to setup CS3 in the right way.
